Mr. Lawrence began his legal career in 1972 with the Tennessee Supreme Court as law clerk to Justices George McCanless and Joseph Henry. In 1974, he became the Supreme Court’s first full-time Staff Attorney. He later joined the NLT Corporation as Assistant General Counsel, and the Firm in 1982. He was named to Best Lawyers in America 2009.

Personal

Mr. Lawrence and wife Carolyn were reporters for UPI in Atlanta. Carolyn was a long-time TV journalist for WSB, Atlanta and WSMV, Nashville, and marketing manager for Cheekwood Botanical Garden. Their sons are Tom III, CPA, CFA, a financial manger in Charlotte, N.C., and Todd, a former Peace Corps Volunteer, now with the Global Health Council in Washington, D.C. He enjoys golf, reading, photography, fishing, and is a two-time Tennessee State Duck Calling Champion.
